BOARD MEMBERS    
Thaddeus MensahThaddeus Mensah - Chairman of the Board / CFO / Co-Founder B.A. in Finance. Thaddeus Mensah was born in Sampa, Ghana, West Africa. Was mentored and trained by his father as a Master Leather Craftsman. He turned this trade into a creative passion of Fashion and Design. He has lived in Europe, the Caribbean and now resides in the United States. He currently works for the IRS. He is a member of the Knights of Columbus and supports various community projects. Thaddeus was recently appointed to be one of the traditional chiefs representing the Asante Cultural Society of Southern California. Marvin BoatengMarvin Boateng – President B.A. in Economics. Marvin Boateng works as a Financial Services Specialist for Union Bank of California. Marvin Boateng has experience in community organizing, fundraising, and project management from his work as the President of the African Students Organization at California State University Northridge. He is currently working towards completing his masters in Public Policy and Administration at Cal Lutheran University. Joan MensahJoan Mensah – Vice President, Co-Founder and Acting Board Secretary. Joan has an A.A.S in Business Administration. She has more than 20 years working experience in the Corporate world. Joan has toured through Europe, lived in the Caribbean for 6 years and has traveled to Ghana numerous times. Joan served 2-1/2 years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Education Sector teaching at a Secondary school in a low-income area of Kingston, Jamaica.
Kara WenrichKara Wenrich – Vice President of Public Relations. Kara holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Kara works for a major financial institution. She is also the President of Shining Star Promotions, which manages musicians, books bands, plan events, online and print promotions and public relations. Kara has been doing volunteer work since she was 5 years old and is passionate about giving back to the community and helping others. She enjoys traveling and volunteering. Dr. Kristen BrownDr. Kristen Brown - Advisor. Dr. Kristen Brown has worked overseas as a Small Business Advisor for the U.S. Peace Corps, Port Antonio, Jamaica, a Group Leader for Operation Crossroads Africa, Inc., in Gambia, West Africa, and a Foreign Advisor at Gram Educational Institute, Inc. Taichung, Taiwan. She currently works as an Education Research and Evaluation Consultant for the California Department of Education. Giovanni Owusu DanquahDr. Mohammed Fofana – Honorary Member
Francis AppiahFrancis Appiah – Appointed as the Ambassador of Cultural Relations for SCEP. Francis holds a B.A. in Biology, Master in Environmental Occupational Health. He is a talented traditional and professional drummer.

Giovanni Owusu DanquahGiovanni Owusu Danquah – SCEP Member. Giovanni Owusu Dankwah was born in Copenhagen, Denmark. He was educated in Copenhagen, Denmark as well as Koforidua, Ghana. He is currently attending California State University, Northridge and majoring in business finance. Betty AkwaboahBetty Akwaboah – SCEP Member. B.S. in Nursing. Betty Akwaboah is a native of Akoasi, in the eastern region of Ghana. She graduated from Loma Linda University with a B.S. in Nursing, and currently works for Kaiser Permanente as a registered nurse. Elisabeth MazaElisabeth Maza - SCEP Member. Elisabeth Maza is a native of Los Angeles. She graduated from California State University Long Beach and currently teaches Spanish. She is involved in the music ministry at the church she attends, where she also met SCEP co- founder and CFO, Thaddeus Mensah. Since then, she has participated in various SCEP fundraising efforts and events.
